The 2019 Ram 1500 is the first Ram truck model to use the eTorque 'Mild Hybrid' system to create more torque on a short-term basis, with increased range and efficiency at greater distances.  The system is standard on entry-level 2019 Ram 1500 models equipped with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6, and it produces an additional 90 pound-feet of torque to add when needed; raising its total output to 359-pound-feet of torque and 305 horsepower, plus the ability to tow up to 7,730-pounds.

The other engine configuration available is a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with 395 horsepower and 410 pound-feet of torque, with the eTorque 'Mild Hybrid' system optional for inclusion.  The standard Hemi V8 can tow 11,610-pounds; but when you add the eTorque system and its additional 130 pound-feet of torque, towing capacity jumps to 12,750-pounds, and engine power jumps to a whopping 540 pound-feet of torque.
